Justice

Seen at Blog Blah Blah's site:

You are Justice

Equity, rightness, probity, executive; triumph of the observing side in law.

Justice is about cold, objective balance through reason or natural force. You can't keep smoking and drinking without consequences to your health. It is the card that advises cutting out waste and insists that you make adjustments, do whatever is necessary to bring things back into balance, physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually. It is a card of balance and harmony; if there is imbalance, the correction may
require recourse to the law.

Thanksgiving cooking delight

The shepherd's pie turned out fantastic and fooled everyone who thought that it was made with real meat! Actually every time we have cooked something with Yves Ground Round, and serve it to our friends, no one ever thinks that it's not real meat. Amazing.

Here's the recipe from the Yves Web site:

Shepherd's Pie
Makes 8 servings

Ingredients:

1/2 tsp salt
2 cups diced onion
1/2 tsp pepper
6 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp tarragon
3—4 tbsp olive oil
2 pkgs Veggie Ground Round Original
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp paprika
2 cups chopped celery
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 cup low fat soy or dairy milk
14 oz can creamed corn
5 large russet potatoes, peeled (4 lbs purchased)
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp white or black pepper

1. Preheat oven to 350 degress F.
2. Cut each potato into thirds and cook in boiling water until tender.
3. Meanwhile, in skillet, sauté onion, garlic and celery in oil over medium-high heat until soft. Turn off heat, add crumbled Veggie Ground Round Original, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, tarragon, salt, pepper and mix thoroughly.
4. Transfer Veggie Ground Round mixture to sprayed or lightly oiled 9 x 13" casserole dish. Spread mixture and pack evenly.
5. Spread corn over Veggie Ground Round mixture.
6. Drain potatoes, add oil, milk, salt, pepper; mash until fluffy. Spread potato over corn and sprinkle with paprika.
7. Bake for 20 minutes or until heated through.

I don't use the creamed corn in the recipe and I add peas and carrots to the meat. What would Shepherd's Pie be without peas and carrots?

Here we are at Mama Ray's house just before we had lunch.

Ray carving the turkey. It is real turkey, not tofurky. He still eats the bird. No bird for me. :)

Yay! I'm blogging again

Man, this job thing is really keeping me busy. Too busy to blog.

Today is the Thanksgiving holiday in America. It's traditionally celebrated by having family reunions and pigging out, usually on turkey. It's also known as Turkey Day. We will be moseying on over to DH's mom's house to pig out. I'm cooking something this year! This is monumental. Please make note of date and time.

I will be making my famous vegetarian shepherd's pie. I haven't started yet, and I think that I actually decided to post a blog so that I could procrastinate a little longer. Plus, I haven't even had breakfast yet. As we all know, you can't cook on an empty stomach, right?

I'm off to start the cooking extravaganza!

Yay!

Well my blog finally transferred to the "new" Blogger. It took a few hours and I'm only now just getting down to making an update. It seems to be pretty cool. All my posts carried over, and the dashboard is new and improved.

I will be checking out what else is new. I'm just relieved that it all transferred. It was a bit nerve wracking there for a moment.

A short moment.

It's all good now!

No idea what is going on

So I thought I was gonna blog. It's been a while since I've been able to blog consistently. I just find myself not having the time to do it during the day. I'm exhausted when I get home or I'm working the 2nd job at night and then it's time for bed.

I log in and blogger is telling me that the new version of Blogger is ready.
I decide to take the bait and I click on the link to switch to the new version. It asks me to sign in with my google ID and tells me that once I switch I will not be able to go back. My blog and stuff will be fine and will migrate to the new Blogger but I won't be able to use the old interface.

OK.

Click submit and I'm greeted with this.

This makes me a little nervous.

I check my gmail.

Nothing.

I go to the url for the blog. It's still there and I back it up, just in case.

I go to beta.blogger.com and there is no singaporegrrl blog to access.

Slightly more agitated now. I go back to http://www.blogger.com and voila! I have access to the dashboard here. And that's how I wrote this post.

I am able to access http://beta.blogger.com as well but no singaporegrrl in the dashboard. No email from blogger either.

hmm.

I have a secret admirer.

I received a package in the mail. Unexpectedly. So exciting! I love getting packages. The return sticker on the padded envelope tells me that it's from overstock.com.

Squeal!

I rip open the envelope and it contains a gorgeous hand made photo album.

Wow.

I look to see who the gift is from. There is nothing inside the envelope to indicate who sent me the gift. I shake out the envelope and nothing falls out.

I like having a secret admirer.
