Live from the Islands!

Oh my gawd. This is a fantastic island. I'm having the best birthday evah! I forgot to bring the cable to download the pictures off my camera to upload, so you'll have to wait for pictures.

I have so many crazy stories. $ 7 tuna sandwiches. Gummi Pizza. Dogs lost in transit. Celebrity sightings. Unexpected thunderstorms.

More details to follow. Back to the birthday lounging on the beach.

Three in one

Today is Tuesday. It's been a super hectic day. Been up since 0600 hrs. I had to take DH to the airport. Then took the Beltway to the new(ish) job. I've only been there 2 months, is it still considered new? It took an hour to get from the airport to the job. Crazy Houston traffic. I think the main reasons why it took so long were:
  1. the beltway is a tollway and I don't have an EZtag, so I have to stop and pay the toll.
  2. The fog which apparently makes everyone on the road drive v e r y s l o w l y for no good reason.
Tomorrow is Wednesday. I know it's going to be an interesting day at work. I am going to have my performance review. A bit quick, I know, but apparently they do it in October and well, it's October. I've never had a performance review before. I'm a little nervous and a little excited.

The next day is Thursday, which I expect to be the busiest day of the week. I have to drop off the meowers at the spot where we have them boarded. Then I have to go back to the same airport to fly away to meet DH. I'm going to...

wait for it

wait

Yippee!

On Friday, it'll be my birthday.

We finally get a honeymoon, I get to spend my birthday on holiday with DH and we get to go to a real live film festival. ;)

Spoiled for choice

Living in Houston, I've come to realise that there are some people that have nice cars and then there are some that have nice cars. I like cars. I'm not really interested in the money or status that is associated with the vehicle. I admire the craftmanship, the engineering, the art of it. I snapped this beauty as I was exiting the parking lot/carpark of Kroger.

Isn't she pretty? Just hanging out in the parking lot/carpark of Pier 1.

Chillin'.

Like the Maybach I saw hanging out at Le Peep on Shepherd.

There's too much money in Houston.

Greek Festival 2006

On Friday, DH and I went to the Greek Festival. Apparently the Greek Festival is a big deal. I had never gone before. We got together with a big group of friends and walked on over.

It was held in the parking area for Annunciation Greek Orthodox church here in Montrose. It was a very interesting experience. The parking area have been fenced of and there were stalls and stalls with food and drink and one tent with traditional Greek dancing and music.

It was more of a social gathering thing than a "festival", I thought.

There was a full moon, or maybe almost full.
HPD was ready! I took this picture as we were leaving.

We had a good time, regardless. It was an unusually cool evening in Houston.

Anniversary Weekend Recap!

Woohoo! We have made it to the one year mark. The celebrations began on Saturday. We had dinner with H2O + Gus and MS + Andy at Candelari's. Their food is so yummy. After dinner we went to Absinthe where the following fun photos were taken.

The happy couple.

There was some carbomb drinking going on.

There were some serious conversations going on...

...and on.

Good times.

Good times.

On Sunday we relaxed and took it easy. On Monday, the big day, we went out to dinner to Pepino's! I love love love Pepino's.

Getting ready to go to dinner.

After stuffing our faces at Pepino's, we came home to have some cake.

We opened The Box.

The cake was wrapped in foil.

And saranwrap,
mmmm...

aaah...

Delisioso!
